I used to feel so much pressure to write long, detailed journal entries every day, and it just wasn't sustainable for me. Journaling started becoming yet another item on my (ever-growing) to-do list to feel stressed about. That's why I started experimenting with a mish-mash of various methods I discovered over the course of a few months. When I started using this modular system, I finally felt like journaling was something I could actually stick with.
I'm so excited to share this with you because it's made journaling a genuinely fun experience for me. I look forward to settling down each evening with my journal - no pressure, just good vibes!
Key principles
Modular: From bare minimum to full-on (and everything between). You can make it as simple or as complex as you want.
Digital-first: I use this system digitally as a personal preference. I don’t want to have a ton of physical journals taking up precious space and I also want to have access to my writing wherever I am. That said, this would also would work on analog systems i.e. pen and paper.
If you’re going digital, but prefer writing to typing, I’d would recommend using a stylus - that way, you get the best of both worlds!
